Duncan Gresham

Attorney

Robert came to law as a second career committed to the idea that excellent skill, knowledge, and representation are not just a goal, but an absolute requirement.  As Managing Partner of KPM LAW’s Fairfax Office, Robert put together and manages an aggressive team of litigation professionals committed to aggressive, efficient and responsive promotion of client interests.

Robert focuses his practice on the defense of large loss and complex commercial and construction claims, contract disputes, professional and business liabilities, commercial transportation accidents, and premises liability, as well as insurance coverage analysis and litigation.  He has tried numerous cases in both state and federal courts and has successfully argued in the appellate courts of Virginia, Maryland and the Fourth Circuit.

After graduating from the University of Virginia, Robert received a full scholarship to study opera at the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia.  He sang for ten years on stages from the east coast to Chicago before returning to law school at the College of William and Mary, where he took second place in William Mary’s National Moot Court competition and was a member of the I’Anson-Hoffman Inns of Court.  Robert is happily married and also manages his boy-girl twins and a wonderful mixed-breed, rescue dog.

Duncan B. Gresham is an attorney in the Roanoke office, where he focuses his practice on premises liability, property damage, and general insurance defense matters. He represents insurance companies and their insureds with a blend of strict attention to detail, empathetic client management, and steadfast professional integrity.

Duncan is a member of the Virginia State Bar, admitted in 2023. He earned his undergraduate degree from Liberty University in 2020 and his J.D. from Liberty University School of Law in 2023. Prior to joining KPM, he served as an Associate Attorney with Tarris Law, PLC and with Wilson Law Firm, PLC, where he gained foundational experience in litigation, legal research, and client advocacy.

Duncan joined the firm to broaden his experience across new areas of law and to continue developing his litigation skills. He values the collaborative nature of insurance defense work and enjoys building strong working relationships with clients who appreciate practicality, clear communication, and thoughtful strategy. He is committed to ensuring that every client he works with achieves a sound understanding of their case and how it may impact their lives or businesses.

Driven by a desire to support and guide others through complex legal challenges, Duncan views the practice of law as the intersection of analytical skill and empathy. He takes pride in helping clients feel understood, supported, and prepared at every stage of the litigation process.

Growing up in a military family and serving in the U.S. Army for six years, Duncan has a deep appreciation for veterans, active servicemembers, and their families. Outside the office, he enjoys spending time outdoors, learning new things, and traveling. He also volunteers at a local farm that houses and rehabilitates homeless and at-risk veterans.

Approachable and client-focused, Duncan is dedicated to delivering high-quality, efficient, and meaningful representation to those he serves.
